Msichana Initiative’s Girls Advisory Board consists of girls and young women’s rights champions, who can provide the organisation with sound direction,fresh ideas and solid advise to the organization’s vision and mission.The Advisory Board meets quarterly and on special occasions, when the organization requires immediate advise on unique issues.
The Advisory Board is designed to enable girls and young women to shape programs intended for them. Active involvement of girls and young women in designing, monitoring and evaluating the implemented programs, will increase their sense of ownership in our programs and ensure Msichana Initiative’s programs remain relevant and address girls’ critical needs.
The Advisory Board helps to ensure the initiative remains true to its own mission and vision of advancing girls’ rights in Tanzania. The advisory board is comprised of 10 girls and young women, between the age of 10-25, both in-school and out of school. The board is led by a chairperson and vice chairperson who are selected democratically among the advisory board members.
